WHAT ARE THE LATEST TRENDING IN MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT SOLUTIONS SERVICES?
Technology drives the media and entertainment industries. This includes everything from cutting-edge special effects created for films (and then adopted by other sectors) to streaming media, virtual reality gaming, and new delivery channels for news, music, and advertising. It’s not a problem with big entertainment companies, but some smaller companies can get help from media and entertainment solutions.
1. Artificial intelligence (AI)
Artificial intelligence (AI) will have a continuing transformative impact on the media industry. The three most essential functions in this industry will be a recommendation, voice recognition, and media automation. Since the introduction of Netflix and streaming services, which have transformed the way we discover and consume entertainment media, every provider has invested in recommendation technology to more efficiently and accurately surface content to audiences who will find it valuable. Netflix has stated that recommendation accounts for 80% of its content delivery, and it, along with all other streaming providers, will compete to improve on this figure throughout 2022.
Similarly, media and entertainment solutions will continue to strive to develop increasingly useful and accurate voice recognition systems. Voice is increasingly becoming the preferred method of communication for audiences with services, which will improve their ability to understand what we want from them by using natural language algorithms.
AI is also used in content automation, such as generating snippets of movies or music that we are likely to enjoy for use in previews and thumbnails. So, if a service knows that we prefer romance, we’re more likely to see snippets of romantic scenes when we preview a movie that includes both action and romance elements.
2. NFTs
Non-fungible tokens, which are blockchain-based certificates used to record digital asset ownership and enable “unique” digital content, are controversial but undeniably revolutionary. And the media and entertainment industries are undoubtedly vulnerable to their potentially transformative impact. While they have mostly been used to facilitate the sale of digital artwork, they will increasingly be used for everything from IP management to selling show-based content. NFTs have the potential to change the way artists and celebrities interact with their fans by allowing them to release exclusive collections that can be collected when fans interact digitally with their idols, much like autographs are used to record in-person encounters!
3. New types of social media (social media 2.0)
Social media is constantly evolving while Facebook remains the largest social network by some margin, it will continue to lose users, particularly younger ones, to newer competitors as they are drawn to “the next big thing” throughout 2022. Many media and entertainment solutions think social media 2.0 can be defined as a desire to overcome some of the disadvantages identified in “traditional” social media. This includes concerns about data and privacy, identity theft, the spread of misinformation and fake news, and the opportunities for trolling and bullying behavior.
Content from these producers is increasingly likely to be consumed in bite-sized chunks via platforms like YouTube or shared via Twitter and TikTok, where it can be discussed and rated rather than passively consumed. As a result, there is a shift in the way such content is created, with a greater emphasis on content that can be packaged into bite-sized, shareable chunks.
4. The creator economy
Finally, traditional, mainstream, and mass-market forms of media and entertainment will continue to lose ground to the creator economy’s more personalized, niche, and community-driven media. Mainstream media outlets will strive to emulate the strategies of platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch by positioning their stars and celebrities as “influencers” and incorporating more community-generated content into their output. Short-form videos and creator-driven platforms will become more popular, especially those that allow audiences to develop personal relationships and connections with their favorite creators and influencers. This demonstrates that audiences are becoming more at ease with the idea of bypassing networks and platforms to connect directly with their favorites.
Conclusion
Technologies never stop evolving; even the most famous entertainment company always seek new ways to develop, to satisfy their customers. But with small entertainment companies who don’t have in-house IT teams, working with media and entertainment solutions is the best solution to not be left behind by their competitor.
